Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" 還真是不錯看,劇情當然有些老式,假如以目前的E世代眼光來看。

(Sorry, dear gentlemen…I really do not know about her personal information at all. Please do not waste your time asking me about her…whether she is single or not…I have no idea. )

Time flies, always.

Today is not my day!!

Everything is going to change.

2008 Summer Trip to Middle Taiwan
Great to take a trip to other cities or countries isn’t it! *smiles* I get used to travelling during summer break and winter break, and it is summer time again. So I packed and happily headed to the middle of Taiwan…the first city we visited was Yunlin.
Gotta rest for a while at the rest area located beside the High Way.

Had breakfast and used my eee pc to check some information. The drink I held is called 睡眠打破 ( shui mian da po ), which means you don’t feel sleepy anymore after drinking it up. Too bad…not so strong for me. Hehe…

We had lunch at another rest area…and this was my colleague’s lunch which called 椒麻雞 ( jiao ma ji ), very oily…

What I had for lunch was much better…素什錦烏龍麵 ( Vegetarian noodles with vegetables )…tasted good.

Some significant letters in the hill…neither Taiwanese nor English. Guess they mean “Welcome” in the aboriginal people’s language.

Interesting sign on the street…it means “ The dishes are made with our love.”
*grins*

Passing by National Yunlin University of Science and Technology ( YunTech )

Check this site if you are interested in this univ: http://www.yuntech.edu.tw/english/index.html
Arrived at Honey Museum

Check this site if you wanna know more about this museum:
http://www.msbee.com/
There is a café on the left…but we did not have any coffee or honey ice cream there…( they’d keep fit ~_~||| )

Giant bees on the gate!

A big bee nest hanging there…

Interesting statues in the park 綠色隧道公園 on our way to the place 荷苞山 ( Hebao Mountain ), which is very famous for farmers’ planting coffee beans.

Here we are…

This stone standing at the corner of the road is called 石敢當 ( shi gan dang ), which is used to block any evil stuff away.

Then we drove to the 地母廟, a temple that people worship Mother of the earth in there.

Before visiting the temple, we came to this café to have lunch. And of course…a must to enjoy its coffee!

Chatting with the owner, we know they have several shops in other cities to sell their coffee products. Check this site and you will know:
http://www.barden.com.tw/product_coffee.htm
The machine is one part of their decoration on the wall. “Kaffee” is coffee in Germany right? ^o^

They brought us coffee jelly as snacks first…( I know some people would think it should be served after we got the main course. Hehe I don’t mind…)

Oh tasted real good...

No need to say, the main course ( vegetarian for sure ) I got was fantastic!

And this green vegetable 炒絲瓜 ( fried angled luffa ) was not included in the set. Because I told the owner I would like some more vegetables in the meal, she treated me this fried angled luffa for free…How nice!

The coffee, no need to say again, was great…and they know I am a vegetarian, so the cookies they brought for me were those without eggs inside.

The site below is where we went:
http://ezfun.coa.gov.tw/view.php?theme=spots&id=P_sue_20041209150506&class=C03&city=P
This is a place where we had massage. Those who work in that centre are either blind or have some eye problems.

Their site is not updated yet…I took a picture of the latest list. They do not do 油壓 ( massage while applying some oil on the body ) anymore.

Then it was time for dinner. We came to 太平老街 ( tai ping lao jie, which means an old street. )

Luckily there is a very nice vegetarian restaurant called 尤佳莉 in that area.

Check for more information about this restaurant: http://055325888.emmm.tw/
Inside the restaurant…I love the heart sutra on the wall.

It is not tea but Perilla vinegar in the little white cup…after we told the owner it tasted very good, he brought each of us a bigger glass of it, for free. Very generous!

The sign on the wall beside the table said they would pay for the parking fee. I guess you guys do not believe it…very generous again!

I ordered dumplings that was recommended by the owner…he said there are several different kinds of vegetables in their dumplings.

Cheers! The golden drink in the glass was Perilla vinegar I told you earlier.

The main course…my favorite hot pot !

Yummy yummy…you guys can tell from my happy face right.

So full after the feast. Let’s take a walk on the 太平老街 ( Taiping Old Street ) then.

Ancient buildings are very significant…you can see the wall looks pretty classic.

A bit rainy and dark…I was standing beside the street sign.

Another picture of me…this time flash light was used, but the effect didn’t seem good.

Another picture of the classic building.

The sign on the ground…yeah I used flash light also otherwise it was too dark.

I do love the farm…the scenery in the country never bores me. We do not have many chances to see the farm in Taipei city, you know.

Of course they grow rice in there. Beautiful…

虎尾糖廠 ( Taiwan Sugar Cooperation in Huwei ) is also a nice place for visitors. How come? You will know soon… :P

Check this site for its history: http://www.taisugar.com.tw/etaipei2/TaiSugar/index.jsp?categid=694&recordid=98&RecordCount=1
Tourists are not allowed to enter the factory, but it was still fun to visit the store where lots of products are sold.

See? Ice cream time…

We shopping here happily for ice cream and popsicles.

I was having a milk and chocolate popsicle. ^o^b Yummy!

Ahh…really would like one more!

In case we got too fat during the trip, it was a good idea to take a walk again. We were walking to the little park beside.

This restaurant called 唯識論 ( Knowledge Wise ) was not open that day. Otherwise we might have our lunch in there.

The old train was used to carry sugar cans before. Now it stands in the park only for decoration.

Driving toward the north ( going back to Taipei ), we found this interesting vegetarian restaurant called 奇香妙草 ( qi xiang yi cao, which indicates spices are used in their dishes a lot. )

Their menu…so many choices for us. Too bad I have only a stomach, apparently not big enough for all the tasty dishes.

Inside the restaurant.

On the shelves are clean tableware ( spoons and chop sticks ) for customers. Nowadays we are encourage to take our own tableware with us, you know. Thus you do not need to use theirs if you have taken yours with you already. Oh they also got some 小菜 ( appetizers in English ) on the shelf.

The green vegetable 地瓜葉 ( fried yam leaves ) I ordered.

Fried rice…delicious!

Fried big dumplings…with 2 kinds of spices in there—rosemary and Chinese toon, which made the dumplings very special and tasty.

The owner treated us the snack for free, again, after she knew we were from Taipei. Thanks a lot…and the 2 puddings were so sweet and yummy!

I suggested to take a picture of the owner…the lovely woman agreed. Do pay her restaurant a visit when you are in Yunlin, and you will never forget about her pretty tasty food.

Check this site for more information of this restaurant

This restaurant on the second floor where we had dinner is near National Tsing Hua University.

A closer look.

The meal I had was very nice…but oily you can see in the picture.
